Volunteer of the Year
Volunteers are one of the key cornerstones between a good season at CMHA and a great hockey experience for our kids. It is important to understand that for every one person we have been able to recognize here that there are literally hundreds of other volunteers that have contributed to make hockey successful at CMHA. Although this trophy is meant to recognize the contributions of ALL volunteers, it just as importantly recognizes the member of Chester Minor Hockey who made outstanding contributions throughout the year.
As was said volunteering is the backbone of hockey in CMHA and that can easily be seen in its roots of this award which started in 1969-70 season. It was originally donated by Lloyd Church in the very first year for Chester Minor Hockey and is an annual trophy. Through the years of service the trophy has required some sprucing up. Thanks to Bill Church the history of the award was preserved a few years back, with a new trophy.
