CMHA Refund Policy

Chester Minor Hockey

Refund policy (adopted Oct 8, 2020)

Given the current situation, due to COVID-19, please consider the following: 

1.     Should the season not happen, meaning players do not take the ice for a single practice, a full refund will be provided. 

2.     If there is a shortened season, a pro-rated formula is in place and would be based on the number of weeks, less than 23 completed + any team fees + insurance

3.     If an isolation order is issued by the Province after the season starts, a pro-rated refund will be issued depending on the actual costs of the season. Please note financial obligations per player at U-11 and above will also include league registration fees. Refunds will not be issued until the season is officially canceled by Hockey Nova Scotia and all conditions outlined below are met.  All refunds will be issued by cheque and mailed to the address on file within 30 days of all conditions being met.

Chester Minor Hockey’s registration rate is based on 23 weeks of hockey and any refunds, if approved, are based on the pro-rated number of weeks remaining less player and team obligations (league fees, insurance)

Refunds after our first ice slot are subject to a $65 insurance fee. 

 This policy does not apply to team fundraising (please see team funds policy). 

·       There are no refunds for season-ending player suspensions. 

·       There are no refunds until all CMHA uniforms are returned by the player. 

·       There are no refunds for sessions cancelled due to inclement weather or facility cancelations. When possible the association will attempt to provide alternative ice slots to make up for these missed times.  

·       There is no refund for missed sessions due to elective non-attendance or retroactive requests. 

·       Players requesting a voluntary refund (to play other sports or pursue other interests) will be eligible for a prorated refund up until December 31st. No refunds after December 31st. The refund policy for these requests will be:

Oct 1st - 31st                  90% of Registration fees less $50 admin fee
Nov 1st - 30th                 60% of Registration fees less $50 admin fee
Dec 1st - 31st                 30% of Registration fees less $50 admin fee
After Dec 31st                No refund

·       Players requesting a non-voluntary refund (relocation, season-ending injury, medically unfit) with appropriate documentation will receive a full pro-rated refund at any time during the season (less player and team obligations). 

Refunds requests should be forwarded in writing to treasurer@chesterminorhockey.com and registrar@chesterminorhockey.com. Please note refunds will be processed when your account is in good standing (i.e. all cheques have cleared, any outstanding balances are fulfilled, all children paid). Refunds are issued via cheque and mailed to the address on file.

 

Players who register and choose not to play hockey are subject to a nonrefundable $50.00 admin fee.
